Judge Patricia Ann
Delaney was elected to the Fifth District Court of Appeals for a term
commencing February 11, 2007. Judge
Delaney currently serves as Presiding Judge. Judge Delaney was born
and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and received both undergraduate (1987) and law (1990)
degrees from the University of Toledo. She served as Ohio
Assistant Attorney General, Staff Attorney for the Franklin County Court of
Common Pleas and in private practice at the Columbus law firm of Vorys Sater
Seymour and Pease. Prior to joining the bench, Judge Delaney served as Columbus
Assistant City Attorney for nine years, practicing in complex civil
litigation in both state and federal courts.
Judge Delaney serves
as the Fifth District Trustee for the Ohio Women’s Bar Association, is on the
Judicially-Led Pro Bono Committee for the Ohio State Bar Association, the
Women’s Impact Initiative Series in Canton, the Public Confidence and
Community Outreach Committee for the Ohio Judicial Conference and chairs the
Bylaws Committee for the Ohio Court of Appeals Judges Association. She also
is a member of the Coshocton Business and Professional Women’s Association;
the Delaware County Bar Association; the Licking County Bar Association; the
Stark County Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association. Judge Delaney has
served by assignment on the Ohio Supreme Court and the Tenth and Eleventh
District Courts of Appeals. Judge Delaney is
married and has four children. The Delaney family resides in Delaware County. SHAUNNA
LINCOLN DOBBS is also a Staff Attorney for Judge Delaney. She graduated cum
laude from Miami University
in 1995 and graduated cum laude from the University of Akron School of Law in
2001. Before joining Judge
Delaney's staff, she served as Magistrate for Judge Richard D. Reinbold, Jr. of the Stark County Court of Common Pleas. AMY
ANDREWS SABINO is a Staff Attorney for Judge Delaney. She graduated summa cum
laude from Hiram College
in 1995 and cum laude from the University of Akron School of Law in 1998.
Prior to joining Judge Delaney’s
staff, she worked as an assistant prosecutor for the Massillon Law Department
and the Stark County Prosecutor’s
Office and as Magistrate for Judge Richard D. Reinbold,
Jr. of the Stark County Court of Common Pleas. KATHERINE
(KITTY) GIACOMELLI-BUTCHER is Judge Patricia A.
Delaney's Judicial Administrative Assistant.
She served as a Bailiff in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas from
1993 until 2007. She previously
worked as an assistant to Speaker of the House Vern Riffe,
Ohio Democratic Chairman Jim Ruvolo and Governor
